force

In fifth grade classes, we have been learning about forces.  We have been doing that by . . . having someone sit with their legs in the air for ten minutes, trying to get a small car to land on Mars, and making/riding hovercrafts.

You might have noticed when astronatus are in space their head might look a little puffy . . . well, on earth our bodies are having to fight the force of gravity to send blood to our brains, our body continues that in space out of habit . . . thus the puffy look.  You can simulate that puffy look by laying down with your feet in the air for ten minutes.  You will lose a cm in your leg, to gain it in your head.  Try it!
Curiosity was the size of a small car, so to recreate NASA's mission to Mars--we decided to get our 'small car' on the lunar surface (a picture of Mars on the other side of the room)!
Hovercrafts . . . that was FUN!

And we guarantee that ONE force will always be with you . . . gravity!  :)
