Astronauts experience what NASA refers to as being weightless through being in a perpetual state of free fall. "While astronauts are traveling in outer space they are traveling at a rate of speed that produces a force equal to that of the force of gravity. As long as they are traveling at this rate they will be in a state of perpetual free fall." NASA uses a variety of ways to create this 'weightless' environment--one of which I will experience in . . . um . . . 42 days . . . but who is counting! :) The Weightless Wonder, Vomit Comet, will produce 18-22 seconds of a weightless environment during each parabola. I can't wait!!! So, have you ever experienced free fall?!?! My family loves to experience free fall as often as possible, and of course take pictures while we are doing it. Share your pictures with us on Facebook at Zero G Faculty! And like the group while you are at it!!
The Bright Family experiences weightlessness on a pier and at the beach in Corpus Christi, Texas!
You have to experience being weightless after you graduate, right?!?!!
And, of course, you experience microgravity at The Space Center Houston!! This was last year when I participated in the PSTI program at the Johnson Space Center.
